Case of murder lodged against district collector Manish Agrawal in Odisha

Odisha police on Sunday lodged case of murder against Malkangiri district collector Manish Agrawal and three others on course of a judicial Justice of the Peace in the case of dying of the collector’s private assistant underneath mysterious circumstances, stated the police.

The order was given in the mysterious dying case of Debanarayan Panda, PA of the collector.

“We have formed an SIT in this case following the orders of the court. A deputy SP has been put in-charge of the investigation,” stated a senior police official. Agrawal didn’t touch upon the developments.

Early this month, Banaja Panda, the spouse of Debanarayan Panda, former private assistant of Malkangiri district collector Manish Agarwal, had moved the courtroom of SDJM in Malkangiri, in search of lodging of case of murder against the IAS officer and three others alleging that her husband might have been murdered since he allegedly got here to know in regards to the involvement of the collector and others in corruption.

Alleging lack of transparency and effectivity in the investigation course of, she claimed that the CCTV footage of the district collector’s workplace has been tampered with.
