FM reviews NIP as part of infra spending push

Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) as the federal government seeks to speed up infrastructure spending within the financial system.

The NIP has been expanded from 6,385 tasks on the time of its introduction a 12 months in the past, to greater than 7,300 tasks, and is making progress regardless of the pandemic, the federal government mentioned in a press release.

“The NIP is a part of the Government of India’s initiative to provide world-class infrastructure to its citizens and enhance the ease of living,” Ms. Sitharaman mentioned, urging Ministries to advertise investible tasks by holding discussions with potential traders. The Minister reviewed progress of the NIP, with a selected concentrate on 34 water and health-related infrastructure tasks value ₹3.6 lakh crore.
