“The Central GST Delhi West Commissionerate has unearthed evasion of GST by way of manufacture and clandestine supply of gutkha/pan masala/ tobacco products without any registration and payment of duty.”
“On the premise of proof gathered, shares seized and confessional statements recorded the whole duty evasion is estimated to be approx ₹ 831.72 crore. Further investigation is in progress,” the ministry stated in an announcement.
On the premise of searches on the premise of manufacture, it was discovered that unlawful manufacturing of gutkha/pan masala/tobacco merchandise was happening.
Around 65 labourers had been discovered working on the unlawful manufacturing unit. The completed product of gutkha was being equipped to varied states in India.
