How to make Jackfruit Curry and Pakodas at home

Spicy and delicious jackfruit vegetable can be eaten as a curry or pakodas depending on your mood and taste. This delicious vegetarian dish is quite similar to non-vegetarian dishes. The popular jackfruit pakodas are amazing if you make them with the recipe mentioned by us.

We can make jackfruit pakoras by dipping boiled jackfruit in rice flour batter and adding all the spices and water to it. At the same time, you can make a spicy curry with tomato and onion puree and enjoy it as a gravy.

Remember – jackfruit has a tendency to stick to the palms, so it is better to get it cut by a professional or apply some mustard oil on the palm before cutting it.

Follow the step by step guide to prepare jackfruit sabzi –

  • step 1 – Take half a kilo of jackfruit and boil it.
  • step 2 – Now take two handfuls of rice and soak them in water for half an hour. It would be better if you soak them in warm water.
  • step 3 – Grind the rice in a mixer grinder and add a pinch of asafoetida, half a teaspoon of red chili powder, half a teaspoon of chaat masala, finely chopped coriander and salt to it.
  • step 4 – Now wrap the boiled jackfruit in the prepared rice mixture and fry the pakodas till they become crispy.
  • Step 5 – Eat it with coriander mint chutney or sweet jaggery chutney.

Make Masala Jackfruit Curry

  • step 1 – Take 3 onions and 2 tomatoes and grind them in a mixer grinder along with garlic, green chilies and ginger. Take a pan and heat mustard oil in it. Now add cumin seeds, tomato onion puree and all the spices like turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and salt.
  • step 2 – Cook it until you see oil on the sides of the pan. Now add pakoras and add 1 cup water.
  • step 3 – Boil the entire mixture together and eat it with rice, naan or roti of your choice.

Under normal circumstances, people do not like the taste of jackfruit. But if you make it in the form of pakodas or koftas, your family will eat it with great love. Pro Tips-

  • Always drain the excess oil on a tissue paper and cook the jackfruit on high flame.
  • Adding garam masala at the end of the recipe will help you get a better taste
  • You can also add spices of your choice.
  • You can boil kathal in a pressure cooker
  • You can also add chopped onions and tomatoes to it instead of making a thick puree.
