How to prepare Mixed Dal Cheela at home in a few easy steps
It is very difficult to convince kids to eat all types of pulses in their daily diet. There are some other varieties of dal that your kids will definitely dislike without any reason. Irrespective of the variety of dal your kid likes or dislikes, be it urad, moong dal, chana dal or any other variety of dal, making mixed dal chilla is a great way to incorporate nutrients in a very peaceful manner.

What ingredients do we need to make Mix Dal Cheela?
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 1 green chilli finely chopped
- a little red chili powder
- 1/4 tbsp Garam masala
- Salt
- Spice
- 5 tbsp urad dal
- 5 tablespoons Bengal gram dal
- 5 tablespoons split moong
- 5 tablespoons whole mung beans
- 5 tablespoons green gram
- 5 tablespoons masoor dal
Follow the step by step guide to prepare Mix Dal Cheela recipe
- step 1 Soak all the lentils in a pan overnight.
- step 2 – Grind them in a mixer and wait for 4 hours
- step 3 – Add finely chopped green chillies, onion and tomatoes, then add all the spices and salt.
- step 4 – Grease a non-stick pan and cook the chilla on low flame by moving it in circular motion.
- Step 5 – Finally increase the flame and let the chilla cook well.
- Step 6 – Pour some oil or ghee on the edges of the cheela
- Step 7 – Once the cheela is cooked, turn it over and cook on the other side for 5 minutes.
- Step 8 – Serve the cheela hot and sprinkle some chaat masala on top. Eat it with some green and red chutney.
Protip –
- If you want to make the cheela a little more spicy then you can increase the quantity of green and red chillies.
- If you feel the batter is turning out too thin, adding a little semolina to it will help you get the right consistency.
- Never add salt at the beginning. Always add salt just before starting cooking.
- Wash all pulses before soaking them in water.
