The Indian Railways has invited fresh tenders for manufacturing semi-high pace Vande Bharat train sets specializing in the home producers and selling the federal government’s formidable Make in India mission. The fresh growth has come nearly a month after railways cancelled the tender for manufacturing 44 trains.
In an announcement, the Railway Ministry stated that it has floated the revised Tender of semi excessive pace 44 Vande Bharat trains sets for which the pre-bid assembly can be held on September 29. The ministry stated that the tender will open on November 17, 2020.
According to the railway ministry officers, train sets shall be manufactured at ICF/Chennai, RCF/Kapurthala and MCF/Raebareli. It shall be native (indigenous) tender and two stage, reverse public sale shall happen.
The ministry additionally stated that the tender has been divided into three section — propulsion, management and different tools together with coaches for trains sets.
First tender underneath revised DPIIT norms
The ministry stated that it’s the first large tender underneath revised DPIIT norms of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Having at the least 75 per cent home parts and the tender is now a home tender.
On August 22, the Indian Railways cancelled the worldwide tender for the manufacturing of 44 rakes of Train 18, which has been re-christened as Vande Bharat Express after the Chinese three way partnership firm CRRC Pioneer Electric (India) Private Limited emerged as the one overseas bidder for the worldwide tender floated for manufacturing 44 rakes of Vande Bharat trains.
