Jyotiraditya Scindia forms three key panels to revive Covid-ravaged aviation sector – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Union aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has shaped three advisory teams protecting all areas of the Covid-ravaged sector. The teams, comprising of business leaders, can be assembly Scindia — in a bid to enhance business-authorities coordination — each month to apprise him of the crucial steps wanted to be taken to revive the sector.

“Under the chairmanship of aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, ministry has formed three advisory groups comprising airlines, airport operators and MRO, cargo carriers.. and ground handling companies. The groups shall meet regularly to deliberate upon issues and resolve challenges facing each sector. Orders have been issued for the same,” the aviation ministry tweeted on Wednesday.

These teams could have, aside from Scindia and the minister of state, high officers from the ministry and organisations like AAI, DGCA and AERA and key representatives from personal sector.
The airline group has amongst its members three promoters — IndiGo’s Rahul Bhatia, SpiceJet’s Ajay Singh and GoAir’s Ness Wadia; CEO/CMDs — AirAsia India’s Sunil Bhaskaran, Vistara’s Bhaskar Bhat, Air India’s Rajiv Bansal and Alliance Air CEO. This group will advise on points like how to improve home and worldwide connectivity, enhance passenger expertise, enhance monetary viability of airways and on regulatory issues.
The airports group includes of GMR Group airport head G B S Raju; Bangalore Airport CEO Hari Marar and Adani Group airport head Jeet Adani. They will spell out steps wanted to improve capability, increase infrastructure, improve facilities for flyers and advise on capex efficiency.
The third group includes of key folks from MROs, floor dealing with, cargo and flying coaching organisations. It will even spell out steps wanted to be taken to broaden this sector.
