Olympic preparations: Narang, Sushil meet parliamentary standing committee | Tokyo Olympics News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Olympic medallists Gagan Narang and Sushil Kumar on Wednesday met the parliamentary standing committee shaped to watch and help in Indian athletes’ preparations for subsequent 12 months’s Tokyo Games and past.
The parliamentary standing committee for the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), headed by Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, is monitoring the medal preparedness of athletes heading to the Tokyo Olympics subsequent summer season.
“We have shared our views, from the athlete’s perspective, on what needs to be done to ensure our preparations are great heading into the Tokyo Olympics,” Narang, who received a bronze medal on the 2012 London Games, advised PTI.
“We expressed our views on 2021 and beyond and generally about Indian sports. Both Sushil and I have represented India in multiple Olympics and shared the cumulative experience of having played in seven-eight Games,” the rifle shooter added.
Narang posed for {a photograph} with the 2-time Olympic medallist wrestler Sushil after their interplay with members of the involved division at Parliament House Annexe within the nationwide capital.
The committee had earlier known as for a presentation by the National Sports Federation (NSF) of 5 disciplines which might be touted to provide the Indian staff medals within the Olympics.

“This will be no requirement,” Bach stated after touring the Olympic village by the Tokyo Bay.
“But we will encourage athletes when it is possible to have a vaccination because it is better for their health. It is also the demonstration of solidarity with their fellow athletes and the Japanese people.”
