BUENOS AIRES: Confident that the Indian hockey workforce is succesful of troubling the reigning Olympic champions Argentina, vice-captain Harmanpreet Singh says they are going to utilise the tour of the South American nation to build momentum ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
The 22-member Indian workforce arrived right here final week for the six-match tour towards the Olympic champions.
The tour contains 4 observe matches other than back-to-back FIH Hockey Pro League matches towards Argentina on April 11 and 12.
Harmanpreet noticed that adapting to the host nation’s type of play shall be key to success for the Indian workforce.

“We will certainly be using this tour as an opportunity to gather momentum ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. Teams around the world are trying to get as much match practice before the Olympics and we are no different.
“We are grateful to be getting extra video games underneath our belt and want to take advantage of of it. To play the Olympic champions shall be difficult however I imagine now we have the expertise and the expertise in our ranks to come out victorious,” he added.
Harmanpreet has been among the most consistent performers in the Indian team in recent years.
He was in fine form during last month’s Europe tour, where the side finished unbeaten in what was their return to international hockey after COVID-forced break.

He also feels the return of senior players, including skipper Manpreet Singh had added teeth to the squad.
“I might say we’re evenly matched in phrases of high quality. It is nice to have the likes of Manpreet Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh again within the facet.
“The presence of senior experienced players like them, who have seen many highs and lows in their careers, has only boosted the morale of the side,” Harmanpreet stated.
